Since we have all had to cancel or postpone trips and family events, I think this is a good time to reflect on past adventures and travel memories. I love looking back at our Lady Journey Seeker Picaboo books that I have made over the years. It warms my heart to remember all the fun times we’ve had together. The day will come in the future when we can bring out our suitcases and start packing again. In the meantime, let’s try to keep our spirits up and remember the good times we’ve had. Ladies, we still have many miles of traveling to do ahead!
In late February, eight of us Lady Journey Seekers went to Costa Rica with Collette Explorations. Lucky for us, we returned back home just before the quarantine began.
We had a wonderful time and were able to do so many amazing and adventurous things. We found the country to be beautiful in both natural sights and with the people who were so warm and friendly.
We were guests at a working farm where we picked vegetables and ate them as part of our lunch which included delicious local foods. We did some amazing activities such as zip lining (I can’t believe how high up we were!) white water rafting (OMG!), walked on spectacular hanging bridges and enjoyed the antics of five different kinds of monkeys that appeared at many of our locations. We were also fortunate to be able to spot an incredible number of beautiful birds in the wild including toucans and macaws. And, we got to see sloths in the wild – one of my top, all-time favorite bucket-list experiences.
At the Finca Don Juan Hanging Bridges in San Carlos, while we were posing for a group photo, some alert tourists spotted a monkey who grabbed one of our backpacks and took off. The tourists shouted out to us but the monkey had snatched the backpack and ran down a steep hill. Had it not been for our quick-stepping tour guide, Juan Carlos, the backpack would have been gone forever! Later, we had a good laugh about that unusual experience.
I could go on and on about this unique trip. I’m just so happy that we were able to have these amazing memories and to get to know each other. Thank you to my travel buddies, Sharon, Sherry, Rose, Lillian, Suzanne, Norma, and Pat. It was truly a pleasure to explore Costa Rica with you. Be sure to check out some of our photos on this website.
Collette Southern Charm Motorcoach Tour
For 2020, the only remaining trip we have booked is our Collette Southern Charm motorcoach tour which is scheduled for November 8 – 14, 2020. Understandably, this trip is still in a “wait-and-see” mode but the Collette Tours travel protection insurance allows you to cancel for ANY REASON up until 24 hours prior to departure for a full cash refund (not a voucher) minus the cost of the insurance. I think that policy is more than fair. We still have 7 remaining seats on this trip and we’d love to have you join us.
For 2021, the Lady Journey Seekers have three major trips planned. On March 8th, we are scheduled to cruise to the Panama Canal with Celebrity Cruises. In May, we are booked on an Avalon river cruise from Amsterdam to Basal on the Rhine and Moselle Rivers. Then in August, we are cruising to the Baltic, again on Celebrity. If you are not booked on any of these trips but are interested, contact me for more information.
Ladies, I hope you are keeping your spirits up and keeping your minds and bodies in shape. We must set our sights to the future and know that we will once again be making more unique travel memories together.
Take care and stay safe.
