Hello Lady Journey Seekers!

Here we are, halfway through 2017. How can that be? This year, we’ve done some fun things together and look forward to the rest of the year.

This year, we have seen the Broadway shows of Riverdance, Cabaret and Once. Then we visited the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm in Ocala and enjoyed a tasty lunch at Latinos Y Mas, a Latin fusion restaurant also in Ocala.

In April, 48 of us sailed away on the magnificent cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas and stopped in the ports of Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Once again, with the “power of positive thinking,” we had beautiful weather and smooth seas. In Nassau, several of us decided to stay on the ship and had a great time playing “King’s in the Corner” card game. Others ventured out on shore excursions to experience the beauty of the island. St. Thomas and St. Maarten were also breathtaking with their emerald and aqua colored seas and lush, green mountains. Ladies experienced a wide and diverse number of excursions. While in St. Thomas, some of us took a ferry to St. John’s and went snorkeling in the crystal clear water at Trunk Bay in the US National Underwater Park.

The Oasis of the Seas is an amazing ship. With the seven different neighborhoods, you can never get lost. The design of the ship is well thought out and the up-to-date technology is very impressive. One day, Sharon and I took an All Access Ship Tour which was offered as a ship excursion. We were led throughout the ship and visited the provisions section, the kitchen, the control room and the bridge. We were in awe of the complex systems that make the ship run so smoothly in every area. If you ever get the chance to do this, it is well worth it, but know that there are many steps involved, including stairs.

Be sure to check out some of our photos from the Oasis cruise which can be found under “Event Photos.”
